Same country, two different tempos. Choose the one that matches how you like to arrive.

Route A

The Overland

7 days · private van · San José to the coast

We leave the capital by road and climb into the mountains, staying at a highland lodge before dropping down through the valleys to the Pacific. The country changes around you one ecosystem at a time.

  2. Days 2–3Mountain lodge and highland trails
  3. Days 4–5South through the valleys toward the coast
  4. Days 6–7Beach days, then the return transfer

Private vehicle throughout. No connecting flights.

Route B

The Southern Flight

6 days plus travel · surf and rainforest

A short domestic hop puts you in the deep south on day one. The rest of the week divides between the water and the trees — surf in the mornings, rainforest and wildlife in the afternoons.

  2. Days 2–3Surf sessions along the coastline
  3. Days 4–5Rainforest and wildlife days
  4. Day 6Free morning, then the flight back

Domestic flight included. Travel days sit either side.

What the price covers.

$5,000 per person on either route. Departures run once three guests are confirmed.

Guiding

One guide with you for the whole trip, never handed off between operators.

Lodging

Every night booked ahead at lodges and small hotels rather than resorts.

Transport

Private vehicle for the group, plus the domestic flight on Route B.

Park entries

Reserve fees and guided entries arranged before you arrive.

Departures

Trips leave on alternating Saturdays.
